About the role
Lead payroll operations across the US and international subsidiaries for a global, fast-growing entertainment company. US payroll runs in-house on Workday; international payroll is processed monthly via local providers with internal oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a payroll team; set service standards and escalation protocols
- Oversee accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, commissions, equity, benefits, taxes, and garnishments across jurisdictions
- Manage global payroll calendars, compliance, and audit-readiness
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Tax, and HR on regulatory and risk matters
- Own payroll controls, reconciliations, and vendor relationships
- Drive automation, reporting, and system improvements (Workday, integrations)
- Lead payroll workstreams for M&A, reorgs, and system changes
Requirements
- Extensive Workday experience; multi-state payroll
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with equity/commission payouts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualifications
- Preferred: M&A, software implementations, equity payout experience
Skills
- Systems: Workday, ADP Workforce Now, Excel

$130,000 – $200,000/year
Schedule
Temp-to-hire role — the team needs someone who can start quickly and may grow into the permanent seat. This is a hybrid role, working 2 days/week with occasional overtime required.
