Director, Global Oncology Communications

This role is a unique opportunity to join a recognized leader in oncology as a key member of the Global Oncology Communications team. The position focuses on managing day-to-day communications for our company’s leading oncology therapy, with an emphasis on lung, melanoma, and head & neck cancers. The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced environment under the guidance of the Executive Director, Global Oncology Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic execution of integrated communications programs to support two of our company’s oncology in-line products in partnership with cross-functional colleagues, including Research & Development, Human Health, Investor Relations, Global Media Relations, Policy, Market Access, and more. Heavy emphasis on milestone communications (regulatory approvals, data releases, medical meeting communications).
  • Anticipate and prepare communications materials for U.S. and global issues related to our oncology products.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to advance our company’s reputation as a leader in oncology, aligned with the company’s corporate narrative, Global Oncology business strategy, and key business priorities.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies, programs, and materials for use by our company’s regions and subsidiaries worldwide; advise regions and subsidiaries on franchise and product communications issues.
  • Serve as a liaison to third-party groups (including advocacy organizations) and external experts (including researchers) and to trade and local news media.
  • Work directly with public relations agencies and help manage related budgets.
  • Manage a direct report supporting our company’s oncology portfolio.

Requirements

  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a communications or public relations role within the pharmaceutical or a related industry (e.g., hospital, public health).
  • Oncology product communications experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills across a variety of mediums/channels (e.g., print, digital, presentation).
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-visibility role.
  • Budget and agency management experience.
  • Proven ability to prepare strategic communications plans and deliver at the tactical level.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $173,200.00 - $272,600.00. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
