About the role

The Director, Global Equities Chief Operating Officer role is located in New York City. This role partners with the Global Equities leadership team to drive the franchise's strategic, operational, and transformation agenda. Reporting to the Global COO of Execution Services, this senior front-office leadership role is responsible for translating strategy into execution, driving business performance, and leading critical initiatives across a complex, global markets business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver the Global Equities strategic agenda.
  • Drive execution of high-priority initiatives, ensuring clear accountability, alignment, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts that advance business objectives and enhance franchise performance.
  • Lead core COO activities, including business planning, governance, executive reporting, and strategic initiative oversight.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing clear insights on priorities, risks, and execution progress.
  • Promote a strong control environment through effective partnership with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Control teams.
  • Drive operational excellence and business performance through data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead transformational initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Champion innovation and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance business outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships across senior stakeholders to drive alignment, collaboration, and execution.
  • Represent the business in key industry and regulatory forums, as appropriate.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and results for the broader Equities franchise.

Requirements

  • Significant experience within global markets, with strong exposure to Equities, Sales, Trading, and Execution businesses.
  • Proven success in a Front Office COO, Business Management, Sales, or Trading Management, Product Management, or similar execution-focused leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of equities market structure, execution, pricing, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic, operational, and regulatory initiatives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Experience driving business transformation, governance enhancement, control frameworks, and operating model improvements.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to drive alignment across senior leadership teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using business, financial, and operational metrics to support decision-making.
  • High degree of ownership, sound judgment, attention to detail, and resilience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
