About the role

The Director of Product Development will lead the build-out of futures clearing, focusing on workflows used by FCMs, clearing brokers, and client service teams. This role aims to improve how futures markets operate daily, emphasizing client experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Own the build-out of futures clearing workflows, focusing on real-world processes such as trade capture, allocations, give-ups and take-ups, and post-trade exception handling
  • Lead improvements in how client activity flows through the clearing lifecycle, reducing friction across onboarding, trade processing, and position management
  • Define and deliver a roadmap that reflects how FCMs and client service teams actually operate, translating day-to-day pain points into practical product enhancements
  • Work closely with exchanges, FCMs, and internal engineering teams to define and optimise venue to CCP integration flows
  • Drive adoption by engaging directly with clearing members, trading desks, and post-trade teams to translate real workflows into product enhancements
  • Ensure strong product governance, prioritisation discipline, and delivery against measurable outcomes

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in futures and options or exchange-traded derivatives (ETD), with a strong understanding of clearing and post-trade workflows
  • Background in FCM product, futures operations, or client service teams, with direct exposure to how trades are processed and supported
  • Practical knowledge of core futures workflows including give-ups, allocations, position management, and reconciliation
  • Experience working with or alongside exchanges such as CME, ICE, or Eurex, or clearing brokers and FCMs
  • Proven ability to deliver platform or process improvements in market infrastructure, clearing, or post-trade environments
  • Strong stakeholder management across operations, engineering, sales, and external clients
  • A hands-on, delivery-focused mindset with attention to detail and ownership of outcomes

Desired Skills

  • Some exposure to OTC rates clearing or products (helpful but not required)
  • Familiarity with vendor platforms such as FIS, ION, or similar infrastructure providers
  • Background typically 5+ years in product, operations, client service, or post-trade roles within derivatives markets, with a clear focus on futures or listed products
