About the role
The Director for Economic Justice and Pro Bono Initiatives leads the Feerick Center's economic justice work, overseeing clinics and pro bono services, and managing new pro bono initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Plans and develops initiatives related to economic justice work and leads advocacy efforts.
- Oversees operational and programmatic aspects of Economic Justice Programs and Pro Bono Initiatives, including clinics, pro bono services, and volunteer management.
- Serves as the principal point of contact for consumer debt defense programs.
- Spearheads community engagement efforts.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree, admitted or eligible for admission to the bar of the State of New York.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a lawyer, preferably in a civil legal services organization and providing consumer defense.
- Experience with pro bono and volunteer management.
- Demonstrated commitment to race equity, anti-racism, and economic justice.
- Demonstrated analytical, legal writing, and advocacy skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated with exceptional organizational and attention to detail.
Salary
$105,000 - $130,000, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
