Position Summary
The Director of Development, Athletics is an integral part of the University Advancement team. They manage the Fighting Camel Club, annual and leadership giving fundraising, and event planning and hospitality for assigned athletics events under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Development, Athletics.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees the Fighting Camel Club’s daily operations including managing membership benefits and administering the Club’s annual fund solicitations.
- Assists Associate Vice President for Development, Athletics with fundraising for scholarships for student-athletes, operating expenses, and special capital projects.
- Maintains a growing portfolio of leadership donors.
- Coincides gift deposits and receipts with Advancement Services and sends thank-you notes with Athletics Advancement.
- Collaborates with coaches and program administrators to help meet fundraising goals for athletic teams.
- Provides weekly reports to the Associate Vice President for Development, Athletics.
- Responsible for Fighting Camel Club hospitality and donor stewardship, including fundraising events.
- Aids with planning alumni events.
- Conducts all activities in compliance with NCAA, Coastal Athletic Association, and University rules and regulations.
- Maintains donor records.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree, desired.
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic software essential.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations to ensure institutional compliance with athletic initiatives necessary.
- Must be able to operate within a budget.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions; ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Experience and skills working independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures and FERPA guidelines.
