Director, Fluid Systems Test
About the role
Vast is seeking an experienced and highly driven Director, Fluid Systems Test. This role reports to the Vice President of Fluid Systems and is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and scaling of fluids test operations supporting the development of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations and supporting spacecraft systems.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in fluid systems testing, infrastructure development, high-risk operations, and organizational leadership within fast-paced aerospace or complex hardware development environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of fluid systems test strategies and plans
- Oversee the design, setup, and operation of fluid systems test facilities
- Develop and maintain robust safety protocols and risk management strategies for high-risk fluid systems tests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fluid systems test results into product development processes
- Drive the growth and scalability of fluid systems test operations to support future Haven Station projects
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in fluid systems testing and/or aerospace engineering
- Proven track record of successfully leading fluid systems test operations in a high-stakes environment
- Experience with artificial-gravity systems and spacecraft systems development is a plus
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

$180,000 - $220,000 annually
