Director, Financial Reporting

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Oversee external financial reporting including financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting materials
  • Direct accounting for business combinations and goodwill assessments in alignment with applicable accounting standards
  • Research and implement accounting guidance while developing technical accounting policies and monitoring new standards
  • Support executive reporting including investor materials and audit committee deliverables while coordinating with auditors
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering a high performance and accountable culture
  • Manage reporting timelines and coordinate deliverables across internal stakeholders, auditors, and external partners
  • Parenth cross functionally with finance, legal, and operational teams to support strategic initiatives and maintain strong internal controls

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience Requirements: 10–12 years experience in relevant field (External reporting, technical accounting, or public company experience preferred)
  • Travel requirement: Some travel expected
  • Supervisor Responsibility: Direct Reports: Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources Indirect Reports: May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
  • Required Knowledge And Skills: Deep knowledge of accounting standards and external reporting requirements Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and disclosures Strong analytical and technical accounting skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Strong communication and executive presentation skills Experience leading and developing teams Strong understanding of internal controls and audit requirements Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools
