Director, Finance Tech
About the role
The Director, Finance Tech owns the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of the enterprise estate of software for Finance applications. This leader is accountable for both core financial platforms — including ERP, close, spend, tax, equity, record-to-report, order-to-cash integrations, and procure-to-pay integrations — and FP&A / Planning platforms, including EPM, modeling, forecasting, and dashboards.
This role partners deeply with Finance and Accounting, as well as Internal Audit, to ensure finance data is accurate, secure, automated, compliant, and decision-useful. The Director is also the owner for finance systems governance, including SOX / ITGC readiness, segregation of duties, and audit relationships.
This role will oversee the selection, implementation, and run-stage of systems including, but not limited to, NetSuite, Pigment, Workiva, Stripe, Payhawk, and Kyriba.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the strategic and architectural builder and owner of the core Finance platforms, including NetSuite, Pigment, Workiva, Stripe, and Payhawk, ensuring platforms and integrations scale appropriately with business growth and audit requirements.
- Ensure platform health, scalability, release management, and vendor performance across the Finance technology portfolio.
- Partner with Finance teams to map existing manual processes, proactively identify automation opportunities, and execute initiatives that streamline operations and reduce human error.
- Sponsor AI and automation capabilities across the portfolio to improve speed, accuracy, and operational leverage.
- Own end-to-end financial data flows and integrations between ERP, EPM, HRIS, CRM, billing, and analytics platforms.
- Set and enforce finance systems governance, including access controls, segregation of duties, change management, ITGC / SOX controls, and evidence quality.
- Lead SOX gap remediation and continuous control improvement across the Finance technology portfolio.
- Improve user experience and company-wide adoption through documentation and education.
About You
- You have 10+ years of experience in finance systems, enterprise applications, or business systems, including 4+ years leading a team.
- You have hands-on experience taking a company public or operating finance systems at a company that has recently gone public, including IPO readiness, S-1 preparation, SOX scaling, and first-year public close.
- You bring deep expertise in ERP ecosystems, especially NetSuite, and adjacent finance tools across record-to-report, procure-to-pay, revenue lifecycle, expense, close, tax, compliance, and order-to-cash.
- You have strong experience with FP&A platforms and planning processes, including forecasting, budgeting, modeling, and dashboards.
- You have proven ability to design and govern integrations across ERP, EPM, HRIS, CRM, billing, and data platforms.
- You have demonstrated ownership of SOX / ITGC controls and change management, and experience partnering with internal and external auditors through rapid growth and change.
- You have a track record of leading enterprise programs with executive stakeholders.
- You have proven ability to apply AI where appropriate to introduce speed and accuracy.
