About the role

As Director, Facilities and Production Maintenance, you will ensure operational excellence, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement within the Facilities and Maintenance Department. This role involves oversight of critical systems, coaching team members, and interfacing with regulatory agencies to maintain audit readiness and high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and track GMP adherence of Facilities Engineering and Maintenance Change Controls, CAPAs, SOPs, Incidents, Investigations, Work Instructions, and Job Aids; update GMP documentation as required.
  • Ensure GMP adherence for calibrations, preventive maintenance, and corrective work orders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain GMP metrics for all Work Orders and other GMP systems within the Maintenance and Facilities Department.
  • Maintain the department in an audit-ready state.
  • Act as a coach to help team members complete Investigations, CAPAs, and Change Controls in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Develop and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Own the electronic calibration system; review and evaluate failed calibrations to determine root cause and implement preventive measures.
  • Oversee calibration activities to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide oversight for Preventive Maintenance Work Orders for pharmaceutical and MPD manufacturing equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation and trending of equipment use and repair; develop capital justification for equipment replacement.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs of manufacturing equipment.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and customers; ensure GMP Work Orders comply with SOPs and support Quality Assurance during Root Cause Analysis.
  • Authorize payment for outside contractor services, maintenance supplies, and maintenance services.
  • Ensure all operations and procedures are well documented and compliant.
  • Mentor and coach employees, facilitating their professional growth.
  • Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational guidelines, SOPs, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Facilities and Production Maintenance; a combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Facilities and Maintenance Systems.
  • Familiarity with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $112,000 – $236,000 USD.
