Essential Functions
- Lead and manage the university’s Export Control and Research Security programs, ensuring compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and federal research security requirements.
- Oversee international engagement reviews, foreign influence risk assessments, and security-related compliance protocols.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs related to export control and research security.
- Serve as the primary institutional liaison to federal agencies on matters involving export control and research security.
- Provide guidance to faculty and administrators on international collaborations, controlled technologies, and restricted party screening.
- Cook with internal stakeholders—including General Counsel, Sponsored Research, and IT Security—to ensure integrated compliance practices.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively adjust institutional practices to mitigate risk.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in International affairs, compliance, security studies, law, or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in export control, research security, or related compliance areas.
- Demonstrated expertise with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and federal research security frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and policy-development skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and federal partners.
