Responsibilities
- Serve as the enterprise lead for strategic procurement, defining sourcing strategies, standards, and operating models inclusive of project roadmaps and initiatives.
- Own and govern the end-to-end strategic procurement for all vendors except facilities, including intake, prioritization, capacity alignment, budget stewardship, and performance reporting.
- Translate enterprise and executive strategies into actionable procurement plans that accelerate modernization, improve margins, and enable scalable growth.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on vendor market dynamics, sourcing risks, and long-term investment implications.
- Ensure disciplined decision-making, investment accountability, and cross-functional alignment in procurement decision-making.
- Ensure procurement activities are integrated with enterprise portfolio management, planning, and financial controls.
- Lead the development of enterprise-grade RFPs, including requirements definition, evaluation criteria, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment, to ensure disciplined, competitive, and value-driven vendor selection including coordination of applicable demos and proofs of concept.
- Lead complex, high-impact vendor acquisitions and negotiations on behalf of the enterprise, including RFP/RFI strategy, ROI analysis, and vendor selection.
- Represent the organization in senior-level vendor discussions and negotiations, ensuring outcomes protect enterprise interests and deliver measurable value.
- Partner with business owners to establish and enforce SLAs and performance guarantees within vendor contracts to ensure measurable service delivery standards, including defining KPIs, reporting non-compliance, and driving corrective actions when commitments are not met.
- Ensure procurement decisions balance short-term needs with long-term enterprise value and risk considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, operations management, or other directly applicable field, or equivalent work experience, required.
- Procurement certification preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic procurement, vendor management, contract negotiation, and sourcing leadership, preferably within a highly regulated industry, required.
- 5+ years of experience leading people leaders, with demonstrated success in developing manager capability, driving accountability through multiple levels of leadership, and delivering results through team structures.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide procurement initiatives and advising senior executives required.
- Strong track record managing complex, high-dollar vendor contracts and negotiations required.
- Experience sourcing technology-enabled services, including platforms leveraging artificial intelligence and emerging technologies required.
