Primary location: Deer Valley - 2500 W Utopia Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Monday-Friday day shift within the Enterprise Project Management Office.
About the role
The Director-EPMO is responsible for the execution and alignment of projects across the HonorHealth network. This includes facilitating, communicating, executing, and managing intake requests, projects, and monitoring results of the overall program. The Director ensures that both the EPMO and approved projects align with EPMO strategies, objectives, and methods, as well as the organization’s strategic objectives. The role also involves assisting in the formulation of EPMO processes and tools to solidify and optimize a standardized approach for all projects.
Responsibilities
- Initiates and collaborates on standard methods, procedures, and metrics for projects and execution (IT and Business), ensuring these standards are followed through completion to retrieve measurable results.
- Oversees, evaluates, and monitors projects with respect to portfolio management, analyzing daily activities to ensure success.
- Oversees staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels, including hiring, onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching, and developing employees to align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Ensures compliance with all policies and financial stewardship by maintaining the department budget.
- Leads individual Project Managers (and applicable staff) to enforce compliance with standards and provides direction on usage of these standards.
- Leads Life Cycle Management for the EPMO (IT and Business) and establishes methods to accomplish these activities with customers.
- Partners closely with management personnel to identify, evaluate, and select specific information technology that supports business plans and strategic direction.
- Assists with the development and enforcement of a standardized toolset to execute all projects.
- Stays abreast of new developments and forecasts future trends in portfolio management, maintaining a strong understanding of solutions and technologies to deliver services to the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of work-related experience (required). Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- 5 years of experience leading and/or developing applicable business process life cycle management (required).
- 7 years of project/program management experience following a standardized toolset (required).
- Experience leading complex, healthcare-related projects/programs (preferred).
- Agile, Lean, CI, or OD certification(s) (preferred).
