Where You Will Work
This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 50% remote) and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing Enterprise Architecture team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and architectural excellence.
- Partner with senior business and technology leaders to translate organizational priorities into target-state business capabilities, technology architecture, and investment decisions.
- Shape and evolve Compeer’s Enterprise Architecture strategy, including our approach to FinTech and AgTech.
- Establish practical architecture principles, standards, and governance across business, applications, data, infrastructure, cloud, and AI.
- Advance business architecture by connecting technology investments to business capabilities, outcomes, growth opportunities, and transformation priorities.
- Lead the Architecture Review Board, helping teams make thoughtful technology and solution decisions while balancing agility, risk, and enterprise standards.
- Partner with product and delivery teams to modernize our technology portfolio, reduce technical debt, and determine where legacy platforms should evolve or be simplified.
- Explore what’s next, including AI, automation, API-first integration, cloud, and other emerging technologies, and help determine where those capabilities can create meaningful business and client value.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. A master’s degree and certifications such as TOGAF, cloud architecture, SAFe, or CISSP are preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5 to 7 years in Enterprise Architecture or related leadership roles, with experience leading and developing architects across multiple domains.
- Experience building or maturing an Enterprise Architecture practice, including governance, architecture standards, and Architecture Review Board processes.
- Broad architecture expertise across business, application, data, infrastructure, and security, with experience in cloud strategy, application portfolio management, and legacy modernization.
- The ability to connect business strategy to technology direction and communicate complex ideas clearly with both executive and technical audiences.
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to build trust, influence decisions, and bring people together across business and technology.
- Strong coaching and people leadership skills with a passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies such as AI/ML, intelligent automation, and API-first integration and determining where they can deliver meaningful value.
Pay
Base Pay: $149,700 - $227,900 USD. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.
