Director, Engineering

About the Role

For our client, we are seeking a Director Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Technical Services environment.

Location

Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation

$185,600 – $257,400 annually

Responsibilities

• Own engineering outcomes across various device product areas
• Serve as Engineering Manager, directly managing team performance and development
• Engage in hands-on coding, leading code reviews, and technical guidance
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices within teams' workflows
• Coordinate priorities across multiple active product areas with varied tech stacks
• Participate in cross-organizational architecture reviews and make technical decisions
• Support career growth for engineers and Engineering Leads

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in leadership roles
• Experience overseeing multiple product areas or technical domains simultaneously
• Proven track record in managing onshore and offshore blended teams of engineers
• Hands-on experience with software for Android devices and the related constraints
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks and backend services supporting device fleets
