About the role

The Director, Energy Management at CoreCivic is responsible for leading utility-related activities and developing energy strategies that include efficiency projects and operational improvements across all facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Makes recommendations for energy conservation and implements projects that reduce energy use in electricity, natural gas, propane, and water.
  • Reviews and recommends modifications to mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Partners with energy providers to secure favorable supply side agreements.
  • Resolves utility and energy service provider issues.
  • Conducts facility condition assessments and energy audits.
  • Coordinates with field operations to resolve mechanical problems affecting energy efficiency and consumption.
  • Implements and maintains utility tracking database systems.
  • Analyzes trends and identifies opportunities for savings in energy consumption.
  • Provides technical and professional support regarding energy consumption and reduction throughout the corporation.
  • Ensures regulatory and company compliance through established auditing processes and risk analysis.
  • Leads energy assessment/monitoring activities including data gathering and ongoing monitoring programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Four years of experience in progressive energy engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial energy engineering, utility cost analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, and facility management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and direct the activities of others towards the accomplishment of goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

Qualifications

  • Additional years of related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This position requires 4 days (Monday through Thursday) onsite in Brentwood, TN.
