About the Role
A rapidly growing infrastructure developer and operator is seeking a Director of Electrical Engineering to provide technical leadership across large-scale data center projects nationwide. Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design oversight for hyperscale and mission-critical data center developments.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, design criteria, and best practices to ensure quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct design reviews throughout project lifecycles, coordinating with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Provide technical expertise on low, medium, and high-voltage power systems, backup power infrastructure, grounding, controls, and critical facility design.
- Support equipment evaluation, vendor selection, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and technical submittal reviews.
- Collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot system issues and improve facility performance.
- Guide white space planning, power distribution strategies, rack layouts, cable pathways, containment systems, and phased capacity deployments.
- Partner with internal teams and external providers to develop Basis of Design documents and facility requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, equipment, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of electrical engineers while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
- 8-12+ years of electrical engineering experience within data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale industrial/commercial environments.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, backup generation, UPS systems, and critical infrastructure design.
- Experience reviewing engineering designs and supporting construction and project delivery efforts.
- Demonstrated success leading projects and mentoring or managing engineering teams.
- Familiarity with NEC and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency with engineering and design software, including AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Pay
$190,000 - $260,000 Base + Bonus
