About the Role
As a Director, Digital Strategy, you are running critical pieces of our social media business, managing account teams, and being a client counselor, primarily for Google, an M Booth client and partner since 2013. You are a key member of new business pitches as well as developing business with existing clients. You're expected to be tenacious in motivating teams, inspiring clients, and being a domain expert in both social media and the industries where Google operates.
Responsibilities
- Client Leadership:
- Put yourself in the clients' shoes: Provide strategic counsel to them while being a voice for them.
- Trust is earned, not given: Build strong client relationships by delivering above expectations.
- A team effort: Supervise and direct strategists, account, and creative team members to ensure client deliverables are met.
- Think 360: Create holistic campaigns and programs that include organic and paid social, events, product marketing, influencer, and more.
- Program Oversight & Management:
- Design flexible work plans for programs (we use an Agile system)
- Ensure work output is the best it can be (of self and team members)
- Attend special events and activations (virtual and in-person)
- Collaborate within integrated agency teams and with agency partners
- Problem-solve quickly when issues arise
- Create and track budgets; understand profitability and servicing
- Set trackable goals and KPIs for your programs
- Team Management:
- Be motivational and inspiring, implementing ideas that help build culture
- Set performance standards for strategists and the account team members
- Coach in real-time and provide actionable feedback and guidance to add value
- Challenge the status quo by getting team members to think differently
- Be a problem solver and help team members with the complexities of the business
- Collaborate with supervisors to determine staff and resource allocation against accounts based on strengths, passions, and opportunity areas
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in social media strategy (focus on organic social), marketing, and content strategy
- Experience overseeing the social media content production process for a brand, and overseeing creative teams, photoshoots and video shoots (you don't need to know how to design, but you have to appreciate good design)
- Strong understanding of social media measurement, how to tie results back to client and business goals, and how to merchandise results
- Strong understanding of how digital and social media fit into the broader marketing mix
- Strong understanding of how AI is used in marketing, both from a content production standpoint and an operations perspective
- Proven ability to lead projects and client communications, presentations
- Skilled in motivating teammates and helping them grow
- In touch with cultural and industry trends--always paying attention to what's happening on social media platforms
- A self-directed and motivated approach that takes ownership of projects and follows them through to the end
- Proven track record of being a senior client management professional and building, nurturing, and growing solid client relationships
- Ability to command a room and get stakeholder buy-in from multiple channels
- 5-7 years of experience
- Experience managing a team of 3-4 direct reports
- Experience in the tech sector (adtech a bonus)
- Experience with social media measurement and publishing platforms such as Sprinklr and Brandwatch
- Experience in both B2C and B2B marketing
- Experience and understanding of product marketing
- Experience in on-site social media content capturing at events is a plus
- Ability to travel and be in person with clients in their office, at events, and activations is required
- Experience with project management software such as Monday.com or Asana
- Bachelor's Degree
Pay & Schedule
- Salary: Temp: $100/HR | Perm - $101,000 - $135,000/year
- Timing: This role is needed in a full-term temporary capacity from mid/end of August 2026 to mid-February 2027. There is potential for this role to move to a permanent placement post-February.
- Flexible Work Policy: Hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 2 days a week (office, client's office, on the road, or industry events). For those outside the NYC hub, you will be asked to be in person for client meetings, events or team meetings. There will also be in person opportunities for you to connect with others who live in your hub to collaborate and work together.
