Director, Digital Delivery Lead
About the role
The Vice President of Digital Delivery Lead at AIG is a critical role responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable, high-quality digital products and software solutions that solve complex business challenges. This position works in a dynamic, agile environment, collaborating with teams and leveraging in-house digital frameworks to create impactful applications that improve and innovate business processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business owners and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements and well-architected software solutions.
- Develop integrated digital, data, technical, and operating plans.
- Lead technical discovery and solution design sessions.
- Define front-to-back stack (technology, data, digital, infrastructure) for Digital product portfolio.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance across multiple projects.
- Develop new or enhance existing applications using AIG’s proprietary Angular framework and Spring boot-based RESTful APIs to create seamless, user-friendly experiences.
- Write and maintain high-quality, reusable code that adheres to AIG's design patterns and coding standards, with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
- Create robust unit tests to ensure code quality, covering both expected and exception scenarios.
- Work with Agile scrum teams to drive best practices, participate in code reviews, and continuously improve development processes.
- Oversee and assist development teams in executing projects within time and compliant to AIG architecture standards.
- Manage third-party vendor resources and AIG employees as a unified team.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions to solve them.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent proven experience in technology roles.
- 10+ years of experience in Product / Application Development, with end-to-end product leadership.
- Proficient in front-end development, with experience using Angular or similar frameworks to create user interfaces that provide exceptional user experiences.
- Proficient in developing solutions within a microservices architecture using Spring Boot or similar technologies, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and flexibility of services.
- Hands-on experience writing services that interact with relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Proficient at working with cloud-native technologies such as, AWS Lambda, and API Gateways to build scalable, cloud-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD best practices, with hands-on experience implementing automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of solutions.
- Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, and various security protocols (e.g., OAuth2, JWT), ensuring secure application and service access across distributed systems.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed organization and winning as one team.
- Excel at working within Agile teams, driving collaboration, and applying strong problem-solving skills to tackle challenges effectively.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $168,000-$210,000, and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
Schedule
