Director Design and Construction - Corporate (Reno/Lake Tahoe)
Responsibilities
- Lead the organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.
- Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.
- Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.
- Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.
- Provide management support to senior management staff with daily operational activities throughout the assigned projects.
- Create and execute project work plans and preparation of appropriate revisions necessary to meet ongoing changes and requirements of the assigned projects.
- Prepare, control and monitor budgets and schedules throughout the assigned projects.
- Ensure that all project documents have been obtained, are complete, current, accurate and are appropriately filed and stored.
- Identify and secure required resources for execution of the assigned projects.
- Review of project expenses in managing project budgets.
- Coordination of design and all construction activities with designers & contractors.
- Aid in resolving and/or escalating project issues in a timely manner.
- Minimize any negative exposure and risk on the project.
- Create and establish working relationships with city officials and public utility companies.
- Capture and coordinate all construction and design activities with operations for a seamless transition from construction to operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years related experience in commercial and/or hotel-casino projects with increasing responsibility.
- A current, active Nevada General Contractors License.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration procedures.
- Possess an in depth understanding of the basics of most building systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office and industry-standard, construction software.
