Director, Design and Construction- Airport Dimensions
About the role
The Director, Design and Construction will have oversight for assigned Airport Dimensions or any partner co-brand lounges (new, refurbishment and/or expansion) Design and Construction projects ensuring projects are completed on time and within established budget and act as Airport Dimensions' Airport Tenant Owner's Rep role. Position will oversee 3rd party providers including Construction Project Management consultants, General Contractors, Architects, MEP Consultants, Signage Companies, Furniture and equipment providers, and all other vendors associated with lounge design and construction. Reporting to the VP Design + Construction, the Director; Design + Construction plays a critical role, managing across multiple high-value Design + Construction lounge projects across the US. Primary responsibilities include developing projected capital investment budget and managing spend versus budget for all associated lounge projects. The Director role will act as the primary Design + Construction owner’s rep contact for Airports and will develop and lead project specific presentations as required. The Director will also oversee direct reports and will support and guide direction of their specific projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop projected capital investment budgets and manage investment spending against budget for all facility projects, submitting monthly capital investment spending and forward cashflow reports.
- Oversight of new, refurbishment and/or expansion facility projects ensuring projects are completed on time and within established budget.
- Ensure branding standards are captured in design documentation and maintained through the construction phase. Engage AD’s Branding Team for input on brand-related items when required
- Ensure alignment with established Airport Dimensions’ governance and reporting requirements including but not limited to; design and construction procedures and protocol, finance and administrative governance
- Review/provide input on construction documents from an operational and constructability standpoint
- Ensure management and oversee coordination to resolve design issues/changes with Owner, A/E team, local onsite PMs, and GC(s)
- Ensure projects maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, budgets, and invoices
- Absorb and assist with assessment of viability of potential new facility projects and project capital investment and timelines
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on status of projects and advise on any developments that will have an impact on the timeline or capital investment of the project
- Prepare and review monthly cash flow projections
- Appropriately escalate any issues impacting timeline or budget
- Manage, develop, and mentor team of direct reports
- Ability to work with co-brand lounge partnerships and professionally manage relationship in order to meet partner expectations
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years working experience in the Aviation Sector as a General Contractor, Owner’s Rep, Architect, Engineer, or Interior Designer with direct report leadership experience
- Proficient in reading construction contracts, construction drawings, and specifications
- Understanding of AIA contracts and ability to prepare them for different delivery methods
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects in various stages of design or construction
- Ability to work with stakeholders with competing priorities to unify project goals
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong ability to lead concise and productive meetings
- Proven collaborative team member
Qualifications
- Graduate degree
- Professional engineering or architecture license
- Familiarity with airport lounge programs, offerings, and operation
- Experience working with Bluebeam
Skills
- PMP and LEED/AP qualifications

Pay
Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 annually
