Director, Department of Social Work

About the role

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is seeking a full-time, tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor to serve as the Director of the Department of Social Work. This role involves serving as the chief academic and strategy officer, overseeing policies and procedures, facilitating shared governance processes, coordinating the administrative leadership team, liaising with campus administration, and ensuring compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Hold a PhD in social work or a related field
• Meet the rank of a tenured associate or full professor within the Department of Social Work at UWM

• Effective teaching and curriculum development

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
