About the role

The Director, Deep Sector Power & Utilities will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of FactSet's Energy content offerings, providing global, multi-office leadership across the Energy team. As a recognized subject matter expert in the energy sector, you will bring deep knowledge of energy data providers, reporting frameworks, regulatory developments, and industry trends, as well as a thorough understanding of how Power & Utilities data is leveraged across investment management, research workflows, and decision-making processes.

You will work in close partnership with the Deep Sector and broader Data Solutions teams, developing and executing a comprehensive data product strategy encompassing content acquisition, collection, integration, and analytical insights. You will lead the Power & Utilities team — comprised of Power Development, Regulated Utility, and Energy Transition sub-teams — while collaborating closely with the Oil & Gas team and broader Deep Sector organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee major projects from inception to delivery, ensuring well-defined scope, appropriate prioritization, timely communication of risks, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Cook up cross-departmental resources and drive prioritization decisions across competing project and operational demands.
  • Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to resolve issues, gather product feedback, and drive satisfaction through demonstrations and sales presentations.
  • Serve as a credible energy subject matter expert, contributing to white papers, webinars, and thought leadership content.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Power & Utilities team across Power Development, Regulated Utility, and Energy Transition sub-teams.
  • Collaborate with the Oil & Gas and broader Deep Sector teams to align priorities and share best practices.
  • Manage headcount planning, employee relations, and ad hoc legal and contract matters, while contributing to company-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve energy data sets, workflows, and legacy models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning tools to enhance existing workflows and expand data collection and analytics capabilities.
  • Advise on energy content collection, distribution, and expansion strategies, providing direction to engineering and product teams.
  • Pearl the long-term product roadmap, develop investment business cases, and pursue partnerships with third-party data providers to expand content capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a relevant field
  • 15+ years of relevant experience within the energy sector and/or financial services, with comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of energy markets, including Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, and Energy Transition
  • Demonstrated expertise in Power Development, Regulated Utilities, and Energy Transition, with familiarity across Oil & Gas markets
  • Strong understanding of large-scale operations, with the ability to identify problems, solutions, dependencies, and downstream impacts
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting as it relates to energy sector data and content
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple offices and geographies
  • Proven ability to create and deliver executive-level and client-facing presentations, including product demonstrations and sales pitch support
  • Experience managing offshore and/or outsourced teams and operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across a wide range of audiences, from analysts to C-level executives
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and GIS tools with a proven track record of applying these in an analytical or data-driven environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with AI workflows and applying AI/ML techniques to data and content challenges
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft suite of products and financial market data platforms

Salary

The budgeted salary range for this position in the States of Colorado, New York and Connecticut is $157,500 - $225,000.
