About the role

As the Senior Director, Data Science and AI/ML, you will build the Warehouse AI strategy for GXO and design and deploy AI effectively across the GXO network of warehouses. You’ll have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career you can be proud of.

Responsibilities

  • Builds the warehouse AI strategy, including Generative AI Language Model and business use cases.
  • Educates broadly across the company on how to build, manage and leverage warehouse AI.
  • Collates GXO’s existing use cases of AI for warehouse automation.
  • Partners with the regions to explore current usage and capabilities.
  • Documents GXO AI library for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds a global AI framework for warehouse automation.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of AI in warehouse automation.
  • Develops awareness of current AI service delivery models.
  • Identifies future AI use case opportunities for warehouse automation.
  • Partners with key leaders to explore viability of AI use cases.
  • Builds business cases to propose solutions to increase warehouse automation via AI usage.
  • Partners with the Automation Strategy team to define AI development, including translation of AI to P&L.
  • Builds business cases around AI in Automation, conducting financial modeling scenarios.
  • Partners with regional deployment managers to deploy warehouse AI solutions.
  • Provides ad-hoc support as required.
  • Partners with IT AI leaders to maximize use cases across the organization.
  • Builds governance frameworks around AI usage.
  • Develops capabilities across different teams on AI in warehouse automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 7 years of experience using or implementing AI in operations
  • Operational excellence training or background
  • Extensive strategic leadership experience in warehouse automation

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • 10+ years of AI experience within Operations
  • MBA or MS
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and listening skills
  • Passion for innovation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
