Director - Data Platforms & Architecture

For our client, we are seeking a Director - Data Platforms & Architecture to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space. This leader will shape the enterprise data platform vision and guide architecture decisions that support modernization, scalability, security, and measurable business value. The role will partner across multiple teams to establish shared standards, align technical direction with business goals, and advance cloud and data initiatives at scale. In this position, you will mentor senior architects and engineers while influencing execution across programs and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and psychological safety. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $162,800 – $244,200 annually Responsibilities Lead multiple teams to ensure high performance and alignment with service line priorities. Define cloud architecture frameworks to connect business goals with modernization roadmaps. Oversee architectural decisions ensuring solutions meet metrics for value, security, and scalability. Guide architecture efforts across programs, promoting shared standards and resolving trade-offs. Mentor senior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. 12+ years delivering solutions in application development, cloud engineering, DevOps, or data/analytics at enterprise scale. 7+ years leading solution architecture and multi-team development efforts. 10+ years in data platforms, data engineering, or consulting with a focus on Databricks.
