About the Role

The Director, Data Management & Intelligence, leads the Company's enterprise data strategy, governance, business intelligence, analytics, and data management capabilities. As the steward of enterprise data, this leader ensures information is trusted, accessible, secure, and actionable, enabling data-driven decision making and alignment with strategic business priorities. This highly visible role partners with executive, operational, clinical, and technology leaders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions, actionable insights, and AI-ready data foundations. The Director advances data quality, governance, metadata management, and architecture practices that support analytics, automation, artificial intelligence, and emerging agentic AI capabilities across the enterprise.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, influence, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive alignment and execution across a complex organization. The Director leads teams responsible for data governance, business intelligence, analytics engineering, data services, and data product management, ensuring the Company can effectively leverage trusted data as a strategic asset to improve operational performance, customer experiences, growth, innovation, and the responsible adoption of AI.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete current Snowflake optimization tasks, certified data and semantic layer efforts.
  • Deliver actionable insights to the business and leadership to better inform decisions and provide timely feedback on key performance indicators.
  • Establish the governance, performance metrics, and quality standards practices (committees, roles, data standards, processes, policies, etc.) for the organization's data management and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Define a data cataloging strategy, data dictionary, data lineage, data and metric definitions in support of driving a single source of truth and self-service.
  • Lead the design, measurement, and monitoring of company key performance indicators as well as high-priority metrics in partnership with areas such as finance, marketing, and joint venture operations.
  • Influence and align executive leaders, business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to establish enterprise priorities, drive decision-making, and ensure delivery of high-value data and analytics initiatives.
  • Champion enterprise data literacy and serve as a recognized thought leader who promotes the effective use of data, analytics, and performance insights across the organization.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams responsible for enterprise data governance, business intelligence, analytics engineering, data services, and data product management.
  • Provide ongoing leadership through performance management, coaching, feedback, succession planning, and career development to build a highly engaged, high-performing team and leadership pipeline.
  • Develop a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement that enables the team to deliver meaningful business impact while maintaining a highly collaborative and supportive work environment.

Key AI-Readiness Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain enterprise data governance, quality, lineage, and metadata standards needed to support AI and advanced analytics.
  • Create a trusted, scalable, and discoverable data ecosystem that enables self-service analytics, machine learning, and AI applications.
  • Partner with business, technology, and AI leaders to prioritize and operationalize data products that power automation, predictive analytics, and agentic AI solutions.
  • Ensure enterprise data assets are managed in accordance with security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI principles.
  • Develop a multi-year data strategy and roadmap that positions the Company to maximize the value of AI and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related field (required).
  • 10+ years of experience leading data management, governance, and business intelligence functions that deliver measurable business value and continuous improvement.
  • 3+ years of experience with healthcare industry data.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, certified/semantic data layers.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience; 3+ years leading managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience with the Epic EMR data model (Clarity).
  • Expertise with healthcare business processes within physician practices and associated application software necessary to support those processes within an integrated delivery system.
  • Experience in leading healthcare data warehouse design and builds, specifically using Snowflake.
  • Proven experience establishing data governance frameworks, data catalog solutions, quality standards, scorecards, access controls, and data-sharing policies to enable self-service analytics across key business areas.
  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise BI and data platform enhancements, including requirements gathering, technology partnership, implementation, and change management.
  • Strong track record of building trusted relationships and influencing senior leaders across multiple business functions in support of enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to present data strategy, governance, and business performance insights to executive audiences.
  • Experience with Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, or similar analytics and visualization platforms.
  • Advanced SQL skills and deep experience with cloud data warehouse technologies, with Snowflake required.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals, including Azure services (VMs, Azure SQL, IaaS, and PaaS).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams and leaders.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience managing managers and individual contributors.
  • Ability to set clear priorities, align teams to business objectives, and drive accountability for results.
  • Effective change leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams through organizational and technology transformations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Additional Requirements

  • Office Environment: Tasks may be conducted within a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Physical Activity: The role may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment (up to 15 lbs.). Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent changes in position.
  • Travel: Travel may be required, including travel between Company locations and out-of-town destinations as needed, up to 15%.
  • Safety Equipment: May require the use of safety equipment for infection prevention.
