Director Data Engineering

About the role

As a Director of Data Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data platforms that power enterprise-wide analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect and optimize data solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

Your Impact

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise data platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
• Define and drive the data engineering strategy, aligning with business objectives and technology roadmaps
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions
• Optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and data workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Implement best practices for data governance, compliance, and security
• Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge data technologies, such as cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, and real-time analytics
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data engineering initiatives
• Partner with senior leadership to influence data strategy and drive business impact through data-driven decision-making

Skills & Experience

• 12+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and managing data platforms
• Expertise in cloud-based data solutions, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Proven experience in designing and implementing data architectures, data lakes, and data warehouses
• Strong knowledge of big data technologies, including Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka
• Hands-on experience with SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory databases
• Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices
• Experience with real-time data processing, streaming analytics, and event-driven architecture
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on driving business value through data

• Experience in AI/ML data pipelines and model deployment
• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies
• Strong expertise in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
• Background in financial services, retail, or healthcare industries
