About the role
The Director – Data & Analytics in the data and analytics is responsible for defining and executing PremiStar’s enterprise data strategy, transforming data into a strategic asset that drives revenue growth, operational efficiency, and margin expansion. This role provides executive leadership over data engineering, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data governance—ensuring a scalable, secure, and high-performing data ecosystem aligned to PremiStar’s digital transformation initiatives, including Project Mosaic and Enterprise Data Unification. The Director serves as a key member of IT leadership, partnering with executive stakeholders across Operations, Finance, HR, and Sales to enable data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute a multi-year enterprise data and analytics roadmap aligned to business growth and EBITDA improvement goals.
- Establish data as a strategic asset and drive a company-wide data-driven culture.
- Partner with ELT and BU leaders to translate business priorities into analytics initiatives.
- Lead prioritization of data investments based on business value and strategic impact.
- Own the architecture and scalability of PremiStar’s enterprise data platform (Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI).
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data pipelines and systems.
- Define enterprise standards for data modeling, integration, APIs, and real-time processing.
- Drive continued evolution toward a single source of truth across all business units.
- Lead delivery of enterprise dashboards and KPI reporting across financial and operational domains.
- Enable real-time visibility into key metrics such as: Service profitability Technician utilization Project performance Working capital.
- Drive advanced analytics use cases including forecasting, predictive maintenance, and customer insights.
- Translate complex data into clear, executive-level insights and recommendations.
- Establish and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks (data quality, lineage, MDM, access controls).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal security standards.
- Improve data accuracy, consistency, and trust across all systems and reports.
- Partner with cybersecurity and IT teams to implement secure-by-design data architecture.
- Lead and scale a high-performing team across: Data Engineering BI / Reporting Analytics / Data Science.
- Set organizational structure, sourcing strategy (internal vs. partners), and capability roadmap.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop top-tier data talent.
- Establish performance metrics and accountability for delivery, adoption, and business impact.
- Partner with: Operations → productivity, utilization, service margins Finance → profitability, working capital, forecasting. Sales → pipeline, customer growth, retention.
- Drive measurable outcomes including: Revenue growth Margin expansion Cost reduction Improved decision speed and accuracy.
- Lead strategic analytics initiatives and deep dives to inform executive decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or related field): Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics / Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics / Statistics, Business (with strong analytics focus).
- Master’s degree (preferred but not required): MBA (especially with finance/operations focus), MS in Data Science, Analytics, or Information Systems.
- 12+ years of experience in data, analytics, or information management.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing enterprise data teams.
- Proven success in building and scaling modern data platforms and analytics capabilities.
- Experience in multi-entity or PE-backed environments preferred.
Skills
- Strong experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and modern cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Familiarity with advanced analytics and statistical methods.
- Experience working with enterprise ERP data (Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Strong executive communication and storytelling capabilities.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive changes across the organization.
- Deep understanding of financial and operational metrics.
- Experience managing external vendors and outsourced staffing models.
