Director, Data Analysis - US Card Data
About the role
The Director, Data Analysis - US Card Data role at Capital One is designed to lead the company's adoption of Big Data tools and other emerging data technologies. This position will have a significant impact on the business, requiring someone who can take charge, think big, and deliver on commitments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the US Card analytical team
- Drive data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of Big Data technologies and development of a program to train and enhance associate skill-sets
- Create leading-edge data products that uncover opportunities for improvement in our US Card portfolio and processes
- Lead governance of our data assets, including development of a governance plan and structure
- Provide strategic leadership on large cross-functional horizontal initiatives
- Report on data analysis activities to partner groups, incorporating novel reporting and data visualization techniques
- Partner with diverse stakeholders (from Analysts to Executives) to deliver horizontally and vertically
- Actively champion the usage and adoption of data tools and solutions across the entire US Card Data Analyst community
- Work in an agile fashion, managing the stakeholder set and capacity for the team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 9 years of experience in data analytics, or Master’s Degree plus at least 7 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD plus at least 4 years of experience in data analytics
- At least 5 years of Professional Data Analysis experience
- At least 5 years of People Management experience
- At least 2 years of Big Data technology experience
- At least 2 years of Data Visualization experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- 10+ years of Professional Data Analysis experience
- 5+ years of Big Data experience (AWS and Spark)
- 5+ years of cloud native (AWS) data processing experience
- 5+ years of Process Management experience
- 5+ years of Project Management experience
- 5+ years of experience with Python
- 5+ years of Data Governance experience
- 2+ years of experience with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark streaming)
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- Mclean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Director, Data Analysis
