Director, Corporate FP&A

Commonwealth Fusion Systems · Devens, MA · 1 mo ago
HybridFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. Must not repeat job title as heading. Must not include Job ID etc. Must remove boilerplate: EEO, legal, etc. Must preserve all substantive info. We need to parse the posting. Content: - About Commonwealth Fusion Systems: description. Could be "About the role"? Actually "About Commonwealth Fusion Systems" is company description. Could be placed under "About the role"? Usually "About the role" is description of role. But we have "About Commonwealth Fusion Systems" which is company overview. Could be placed under "About the role"? The instruction: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can use those headings if content exists. We have content for About the role? The posting includes "Join the power movement as Director, Corporate FP&A We are seeking a strategic and analytical Director, Corporate FP&A, to drive our enterprise-level financial planning processes. This role sits at the center of how the company sets direction, allocates capital, and measures performance—translating complex financial and operational data into the insights that guide Executive Leadership and Board decisions." That's about the role. So we can put that under About the role. Responsibilities: The "What you'll do:" section with bullet points. Requirements: The "What we’re looking for:" includes education, experience, etc. Also "Must-have Requirements:" includes physical requirements, travel, facility hazards. Those are requirements. Qualifications: Might overlap with requirements. But we can separate: Qualifications could be education, preferred credentials. Requirements could be experience, must-have. But we need to avoid duplication. We'll decide: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree ... MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred. Requirements: 15+ years progressive finance experience, demonstrated experience executive-level communication, advanced financial modeling, etc. Also Must-have Requirements: physical, travel, facility hazards. Skills: Could be "Bonus Points For:" and maybe "Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis expertise; deep command of enterprise planning processes". That's skill. Also "Familiarity with modern FP&A tooling and interest in applying AI and automation". Also "Experience supporting a high-growth company". So we can put those under Skills. Benefits: The benefits list after "Benefits include:" includes many items. Pay: The posting says "Salary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits. The actual salary will depend on level, location, qualifications, and experience. The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations." No specific numbers given. So we have no actual salary range; it's vague. According to instruction: never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. It states "Salary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits." but does not give numbers. It says "The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations." Still no actual numbers. It's not a specific figure. It's basically saying there is a range but not provided. Should we include Pay section? The instruction: never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. It does state that there is a salary range, but not the actual numbers. Is that considered stating them? It says "Salary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits." That is a statement that there is a salary range, but not the range itself. Might be considered stating that there is a range, but not giving specifics. The instruction says "never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. 'commensurate with experience', 'not specified', 'N/A', 'varies', 'TBD')". Since they didn't give numbers, it's essentially placeholder. So we should NOT include Pay section. Schedule: No mention of schedule (full-time). It says full-time position but no schedule details. So we should not include Schedule. Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits. We need to use

for each heading. Use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use

for prose. We must preserve all substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. Remove boilerplate: EEO, legal, etc. Also remove duplicated lines, cookie/navigation etc. Also remove "At CFS, we excel in fast-paced environments..." maybe that's values; could be part of About the role? It's about company culture. Might be considered substantive? It's not boilerplate; it's about values. Could be included in About the role or maybe a separate section? But we only have set headings. Could incorporate into About the role as prose. Also remove "This role requires compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (collectively, “Export Control Laws"). Any offer of employment will be contingent on the need for compliance with such Export Control Laws." That's legal boilerplate; should be removed. Also remove "We consider all qualified applicants equally..." EEO boilerplate; remove. Also remove "As we grow, we’re eager to bring on mission-driven folks..." maybe keep as part of About the role? It's about mission-driven folks; could be kept. We need to ensure we don't lose substantive info like "Since 2018, we’ve raised $4 billion of capital, making us the largest and leading fusion company in the world." That's company overview; could be in About the role. Now craft HTML. Structure:

    About the role

    ...

    Then Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities

Requirements: combine "What we’re looking for:" and "Must-have Requirements:" maybe separate? But we can put all under Requirements. We need to list items as
    • . The "What we’re looking for:" includes: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred - 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant time in corporate FP&A, strategic finance, or a comparable function - Demonstrated experience and executive-level communication and storytelling in preparing materials for Company leadership and Boards - Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis expertise; deep command of enterprise planning processes Then Must-have Requirements: - Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time - Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally - Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics We could also include "At CFS, we excel in fast-paced environments, driven by our values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique." maybe as part of About the role. Qualifications: Could be education and preferred credentials. But we already included education in Requirements. To avoid duplication, maybe we treat Qualifications as education and preferred credentials, and Requirements as experience and must-have. Let's do that. Thus:

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
      • MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred

      Requirements

      • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant time in corporate FP&A, strategic finance, or a comparable function
      • Demonstrated experience and executive-level communication and storytelling in preparing materials for Company leadership and Boards
      • Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis expertise; deep command of enterprise planning processes
      • Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
      • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
      • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
Skills: Bonus points and maybe other skill statements. From posting: - Bonus Points For: Familiarity with modern FP&A tooling and interest in applying AI and automation to finance workflows - Experience supporting a high-growth company Also "Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis expertise; deep command of enterprise planning processes" already in Requirements; we could also list under Skills but avoid duplication. We'll keep Skills as the bonus points. Thus:

      Skills

      • Familiarity with modern FP&A tooling and interest in applying AI and automation to finance workflows
      • Experience supporting a high-growth company
Benefits: list from "Benefits include:": - Competitive compensation with equity - 13 Company-wide Holidays - Flexible vacation days - 10 sick days - Generous parental leave policy - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with employer matching - Professional growth opportunities - Team-building activities We should preserve all.
