Primary Function of Position
The Director, Corporate Development Finance acts as the Finance leader for initiatives originating from our Corporate Development organization. This role also serves as a resource to support senior executives engaged in strategic investments across the business.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert focused on evaluating a broad range of growth opportunities for Intuitive in support of Sr. Director, Corporate Development & Sales Operations.
- Operate as a player coach while managing a team of managers and analysts who support our Corporate Development initiatives.
- Collaborate with deal champions and deal teams to research markets, technologies and organizations to assess strategic fit, build/buy/partner options, and financial value.
- Partner with deal champions and deal teams on identifying and diligencing areas that impact valuation and transaction structure for M&A and BD deals.
- Develop and own financial models and valuation analyses in support of M&A and BD deals (acquisitions, licenses, equity investments, joint ventures, partnerships, etc.).
- Evaluating deal structure options in partnership with the deal champions and deal teams.
- Coordinate across Business Unit leaders, Functional leaders, and the broader Finance organization in developing deal models and translating them into core operational processes.
- Develop board-level presentation materials in support of M&A and BD deals.
- Track and report return on investments made in external organizations.
Required Skills and Experience
- 15+ years of relevant experience in medical device focused Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Equity Research, Buy Side, or Venture Capital roles.
- 10+ years of experience in leading deal teams to develop M&A models, execute on VC investments, lead diligence processes, and provide Intrinsic/Relative value perspectives.
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced organization.

- Intellectual curiosity and ability to navigate ambiguous circumstances.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Medical device industry experience and ability to master our organizational strengths.
- Exceptional deal structure, business modeling and valuation competence.
- Ability to present, articulate, and defend analyses, diplomatically, on a routine basis.
- This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week.
- Available for periodic travel is necessary to support due diligence efforts and projects.
Required Education and Training
Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred).
