About the Role

Raytheon’s Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Contracts to lead the Middle East & North Africa – Asia Pacific (MAP) Program Area contracting team within the Global PATRIOT® Program Area. This role provides leadership over a team of nine Contracts professionals responsible for a mix of U.S. Department of War (DoW) and international Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) contracts.

The Director, Contracts will have business acumen, subject matter expertise, and program knowledge to understand program performance, provide guidance, and influence outcomes to achieve program and financial objectives. The role involves regular communication with key internal and external leaders, robust change management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the MAP Program Area contracting team, providing oversight and leadership to ensure program and financial objectives are met.
  • Support all contract pursuits, proposals, Request for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), and negotiations.
  • Handle complex contracts duties, including reviewing Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Contract Change Proposals for requirements and risks.
  • Recognize business and contractual issues in program performance and implement solutions to mitigate risks, cost overruns, and schedule delays.
  • Advise management on contractual rights, obligations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with Product Line Lead, Program Managers, Business/Estimating, and Office of General Counsel to align contract strategies with program goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies for complex issues requiring detailed analysis and investigation.
  • Serve as the primary contract lead for all MAP Program Area activities, ensuring proposed solutions meet customer requirements and company standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and international partners.
  • Apply innovative contracting techniques to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for Raytheon, the Prime, and international partners.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR Foreign Military Sales (FMS) exemption and ITAR Part 130 reporting processes.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance (required on day 1).
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience.
  • Experience in contract administration, program management, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.
  • Experience managing U.S. Government contracts and/or subcontracts under the FAR and DFARS.
  • Experience managing International Direct Commercial Sale contracts and/or subcontracts.
  • Leadership experience within a geographically dispersed team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Juris Doctor.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and cross-cultural awareness.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to support program needs.
  • Adaptability to changing business environments.

Skills

  • Knowledge of financial aspects of contracts and negotiation strategies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing demands.
  • Business acumen and program knowledge to address contractual and performance issues.
  • Experience researching compliance issues, regulations, and laws to formulate recommendations.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $186,200 – $353,800 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
