Director, Compliance

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Compliance to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will guide the organization’s compliance and ethics strategy, with a strong emphasis on regulatory risk management and program oversight. The Director will partner across functions to strengthen accountability, monitor issues, and ensure the business is equipped to respond effectively to investigations and changing requirements. This is a highly visible position that supports executive leadership with insights, reporting, and practical guidance to maintain a strong culture of compliance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the compliance and ethics program
• Oversee compliance risk assessment and monitoring processes
• Manage the compliance hotline, including investigation and resolution
• Lead compliance investigations into regulatory violations
• Ensure corrective actions are developed and tracked after investigations
• Identify compliance gaps and report findings to executive leadership
• Build relationships across functions to coordinate compliance activities
• Develop policies and reporting for ethical accountability
• Implement compliance training and awareness campaigns
• Monitor the regulatory landscape and prepare compliance reports for leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred, such as a J.D. or MBA
• Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) required within 12 months
• 8-10 years of experience in compliance, ethics, or regulatory roles
• 3-5 years in a compliance leadership or program management position
• Experience in education technology or similar regulated industries preferred
• Proven track record in managing compliance investigations end to end
• Strong presentation skills for executive leadership and boards

Pay

$110,500 – $196,500 annually
