Director, Commercial Data & Digital Solutions
About the role
The IT Director, Commercial Data & Digital Solutions will lead the strategy, delivery, and continuous evolution of data, analytics, and digital capabilities that power Commercial excellence across innovative pharmaceutical brands. This role partners closely with Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and external partners to create scalable, compliant, and insight-driven solutions that accelerate brand performance and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Commercial Data & Digital Solutions roadmap aligned to brand, portfolio, and enterprise priorities.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Commercial leaders on data, analytics, digital platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of product owners, analysts, architects, and delivery partners.
- Own the end-to-end architecture and governance of commercial data (HCP, patient, Rx, CRM, omnichannel, digital engagement, market, and access data).
- Oversee data integration, quality, stewardship, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Drive adoption of enterprise data platforms, cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), and master data management.
- Lead the design and delivery of omnichannel capabilities including CRM (e.g., Veeva), marketing automation, content management, advanced targeting/segmentation, and digital engagement analytics.
- Enable personalized HCP and patient journeys leveraging modern MarTech/AdTech tools.
- Partner with Commercial and Digital Marketing to operationalize digital-first brand strategies.
- Enable AI/ML-driven insights for forecasting, promotional optimization, segmentation, targeting, payer analytics, and real-world evidence.
- Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to deploy advanced models into business workflows.
- Ensure scalable and compliant analytics environments supporting self-service BI and reporting.
- Lead end-to-end program delivery from ideation through deployment and ongoing enhancements using agile and product management methodologies.
- Manage key technology partners, agencies, and vendors ensuring performance, value, and contractual compliance.
- Optimize cost, performance, and innovation across internal and third-party ecosystems.
- Build strong relationships with Sales, Marketing, Patient Services, Access and Value, Insights & Analytics, Compliance, and Finance.
- Collaborate with Global and Regional IT teams to align platforms, standards, and governance.
- Act as a connector across business units to harmonize processes and drive efficiencies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT, Data, Digital, or Commercial Technology roles within Life Sciences or a related regulated industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Pharma processes: brand planning, omnichannel marketing, field execution, incentive compensation, analytics, and payer dynamics.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level digital, data, or analytics programs.
- Hands-on experience with CRM/CLM (preferably Veeva), CDP/DMP, marketing automation, and commercial data ecosystems (IQVIA, DHC, Symphony, SHS, etc.).
- Expertise in cloud platforms, data architecture, BI/analytics tools, and AI/ML solutions.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional matrix environments.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

- Deep expertise in pharma commercial data ecosystems, omnichannel platforms, advanced analytics, and an innovation mindset.
- Ability to translate business strategy into technology execution.

Pay
The annual starting salary for this position is between $161,000 – $202,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
