Director - Commercial
Job Summary
Expand Energy is entering a period of significant growth, and the commercial strategy will directly determine the value we capture. We are seeking a Director, Commercial to lead this charge. This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of the business, responsible for shaping how we move product across midstream systems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Setting and leading the commercial strategy across midstream services (gathering, processing)
Owning and optimizing a complex portfolio of third-party midstream agreements to maximize value and manage risk
Leading high-value commercial negotiations and structuring agreements that support long-term growth
Aligning commercial commitments with production forecasts, infrastructure capacity, and operational realities
Identifying and unlocking new opportunities across infrastructure, partnerships, and system optimization
Building, leading, and developing a high-performing commercial team
Partnering cross-functionally to deliver integrated, commercially sound outcomes
Job Specific Skills
You are a commercially astute leader who understands how infrastructure, midstream contracts, and market dynamics intersect and how to turn that into competitive advantage. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and execution focus, with the ability to operate in a complex, fast-moving environment and influence outcomes at a senior level. You have demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, commercial strategy, and portfolio management.
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Energy Management, Marketing, or related field
Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., MBA)
Experience
Minimum: 12 years of relevant experience in energy, midstream, or commercial roles
Preferred: 2 years leadership experience
Additional Qualifications
Strong understanding of gathering, processing, and transportation agreements
