Responsibilities

  • Leads Clinical Pharmacology/PK/PD activities and multiple major projects.
  • Aids R&D senior management in selecting action plans aligned with drug development objectives.
  • Identifies and resolves issues, develops contingency plans, and ensures projects align with strategic objectives.
  • Assesses project timelines and evaluates portfolio opportunities.
  • Negotiates project outcomes and deliverables across conflicting demands.
  • Consults on critical decisions and development plans, focusing on technical and scientific aspects.
  • Evaluates and writes regulatory documents, responds to agency comments, and leads regulatory document writing.
  • Conducts due diligence, summarizes findings, and represents CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY on business development teams.
  • Develops and implements process improvement initiatives and reviews recommendations for approval.
  • Contributes to the development of departmental goals and influences strategic PK/PD decisions.
  • Ensures high-quality and timely execution of functions and responsibilities.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of PK/PD data analysis, modeling, and simulation methods.
  • Manages personnel, including development, mentoring, and effective delegation.

Qualifications

  • PhD with typically 7+ years of experience or Pharm D with typically 9+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • MS or equivalent education with typically 15+ years of experience; BS or equivalent education and typically 17+ years of experience.
  • Experience with PK, PBPK, PK-PD, Pharmacometrics, or systems pharmacology, Drug metabolism/Transporters.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge/experience in multiple therapeutic and/or functional areas.
  • Experience across various development phases and knowledge of AbbVie and pharmaceutical drug development processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies in PK/PD, Biopharmaceutics, and Pharmacometric activities.
  • Project management skills including scope management, progress tracking/driving, and time management.
  • Participation in initiatives and advancements of CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
