Director - CIB Credit - Power & Renewables, TD Securities
About the Role
Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) provides a full range of financial advisory and capital-raising services to corporate and institutional clients on transactions with a North American component. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs, then collaborate as an integrated team to deliver unique solutions. TD Securities is a leading North American dealer in Debt and Equity products. The CIB Credit team comprises in-house credit assessment and deal execution professionals who assist in business origination, structuring, analysis, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring of borrowers across various sectors. This role focuses on the Power & Renewables industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead deal teams in preparing detailed, high-quality credit submissions for new and existing clients, including risk analysis, financial performance review, and key metrics.
- Manage workflow and train junior team members.
- Ensure credit reviews include risk rating assessments, leveraged lending analysis (if applicable), and detailed projections for lower-rated borrowers.
- Conduct market, industry, and client research to support ongoing risk assessment.
- Review loan and security documentation to ensure accuracy with credit authorizations.
- Monitor borrower performance, prepare High Risk Reports as needed, and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with Investment Banking, Sponsors, Leveraged Finance, Capital Markets, and other product groups to provide a holistic transaction view.
- Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management in alignment with TD policies.
- Participate in project working groups, industry reviews, and internal risk policy committees.
- Identify cross-sell opportunities and coordinate with other business units.
Qualifications
- Minimum 9-10 years of related experience.
- Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance), Mathematics, or Economics.
- Series 79, 63, and SIE licenses.
- Well-organized with strong leadership qualities.
