About the role
The Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology and The Arrhythmia Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) within RWJBarnabas Health is responsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership for Cardiac Electrophysiology services at NBIMC and affiliated hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and administrative leadership for Cardiac Electrophysiology services at NBIMC and affiliated hospitals.
- Perform a wide range of electrophysiologic procedures with particular expertise in complex VT ablation, atrial fibrillation ablation, and device implantation.
- Direct the growth and integration of The Arrhythmia Center, enhancing regional access to advanced EP care.
- Foster a culture of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and academic engagement, working closely with cardiology fellows and residents.
- Collaborate with advanced heart failure, imaging, interventional, and cardiac surgical teams to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.
- Guide strategic planning for EP services, including resource allocation, technology acquisition, and faculty recruitment.
- Ensure high standards of care aligned with national guidelines and accreditation requirements.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement, clinical innovation, and research efforts.
- Build and lead a high-performing team at NBIMC and The Arrhythmia Center.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified in Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
- Demonstrated expertise in VT ablation and complex arrhythmia management.
- Proven leadership experience in an academic or high-volume clinical EP setting.
- Strong interest in teaching, clinical research, and academic leadership.
- Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
- Commitment to advancing equitable and high-quality cardiovascular care.
