Role Overview

The Director, Brand and Communications will shape and execute Versaterm's global brand, content, and external communications strategy, strengthening the company's position as an innovator and trusted partner in public safety technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive proactive and reactive media engagement to strengthen Versaterm's position as an industry leader, including thought leadership, issues management, and executive visibility.
  • Develop strategic communications for senior leaders, including keynote speeches, op-eds, thought leadership articles, and presentations.
  • Oversee corporate announcements, product launches, and strategic narratives that highlight Versaterm's innovation, customer impact, and growth momentum.
  • Partner with industry analysts, conference organizers, and associations to secure earned visibility for Versaterm and its executives.
  • Lead crisis and reputation management planning, ensuring readiness and coordinated response across functions.
  • Own Versaterm's enterprise content strategy across the corporate website, blogs, social platforms, executive bylines, and key corporate campaigns.
  • Develop an integrated editorial calendar that aligns business priorities, industry trends, product launches, and major events.
  • Partner with the GTM team to develop messaging and content strategies supporting launches, campaigns, and business initiatives.
  • Steward Versaterm's brand positioning, messaging, and voice across all external channels.
  • Guide the development of compelling creative assets that strengthen the Versaterm brand.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while developing talent and scalable processes.
  • Establish performance metrics that measure the impact of brand, content, media, and communications initiatives.
  • Drive innovation across the function by integrating AI and emerging technologies into the strategy and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields, ideally in public safety or technology, with 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience developing and evolving brand positioning, messaging, and corporate narratives in a high-growth B2B technology environment.
  • Strong media relations expertise, with established relationships across technology, business, and industry trade media.
  • Experience managing and collaborating with creative and communications agencies.
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technology and business strategies into compelling, human-centered narratives.
  • Experience developing SEO-informed content strategies that improve discoverability, audience engagement, and the performance of digital programs.
  • Experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve development, workflows, and team effectiveness.
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability; comfortable operating both at a high strategic level and in day-to-day delivery.

  • Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy compliance.
  • Comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check.
