Director, Bioanalysis (Biomarkers)

About the role

This hands-on leadership role directs bioanalytical operations focused on biomarkers, ensuring regulatory compliance, laboratory oversight, and delivery of high-quality scientific services. The director partners with business development and client teams to strengthen relationships, support growth, and improve operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices in management duties
• Oversee laboratory operations in line with regulatory requirements
• Act as the company representative with clients and prospects
• Collaborate with business development directors to nurture and expand client relationships
• Drive operational efficiency improvements with actionable insights
• Draft and approve SOPs and other project documents
• Develop strategies for the growth and profitability of bioanalytical services
• Mentor and supervise scientific staff, guiding them in their professional development
• Manage departmental resources and implement company goals for operational success

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field preferred; bachelor's degree accepted
• Alternate certification may be acceptable with sufficient technical ability for the role
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
• Experience in a client-service environment within a contract laboratory or pharmaceutical company
• Proficient in scientific problem-solving skills
• Extensive knowledge of GLP guidelines and regulatory requirements

Pay

$118,700 – $207,800 annually
