About the role

Angi is seeking an exceptional Director, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning to lead the team in transforming Angi's operations. The role involves leading a team of machine learning engineers, deploying large-scale distributed applications, integrating third-party AI APIs, and fostering innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of talented machine learning engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional growth.
  • Oversee the fine-tuning and deployment of Large Language Model (LLM) providers like OpenAI GPT and Google Gemini, focusing on optimizing model performance and scalability.
  • Oversee the integration and management of AI tools and third-party solutions, enhancing user experience and business performance.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and design teams to build robust, scalable real-time APIs, and integrate AI solutions into products.
  • Foster innovation within the team, exploring new approaches and techniques to solve complex business problems.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a computer science or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields).
  • 10+ years of experience in machine learning & engineering, with a focus on large-scale distributed application architecture for deploying ML models to production.
  • Expertise in machine learning deployment, API development, and real-time ML workloads.
  • Proficiency in Python and comfort in diving deep into technical challenges alongside your team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
