Director, AI Engineering & Delivery (AWS Experience Required)
Role Overview
Coaction is executing a multi-year enterprise AI transformation, and this role sits at the center of it. As Director of AI Engineering & Delivery, you will own how AI solutions are built, deployed, and scaled across the enterprise — from concept to production. This is a hands-on player-coach role.
Key Responsibilities
Translate product requirements into technical delivery plans.
Lead solution design and implementation.
Manage delivery teams (employees and consultants)
Ensure performance, security, and reliability.
AI Engineering & Architecture Leadership
Define reference architectures and delivery patterns.
Align with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Establish engineering best practices.
Establish AI Delivery Standards & Playbooks
LLMOps/MLOps lifecycle practices
Testing, monitoring, and observability
Documentation and knowledge transfer
Build Internal AI Engineering Capability
Upskill teams and lead knowledge transfer.
Mentor engineers and define hiring needs.
Vendor & Delivery Partner Leadership
Manage implementation partners.
Ensure knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
Collaboration Across Technology Leadership
Partner with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Data teams.
12+ years in software/data engineering or solution delivery leadership
Proven record delivering complex production systems.
Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
Experience delivering solutions using internal staff and external partners.
Demonstrated success building new technical capabilities internally.
Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated industries
Familiarity with document-heavy and unstructured data workflows
LLM systems, RAG, agentic workflows, prompt engineering
AI engineering, CI/CD, evaluation, monitoring
Cloud, APIs, event-driven architecture, data governance
Strong technical leadership and delivery discipline
Ability to lead mixed teams (employees + consultants)
Effective communication and stakeholder management
Deliver 2–4 AI solutions into production.
Establish AI delivery standards and monitoring practices.
Build a plan to scale the internal AI engineering team.
Reduce reliance on external partners over time.

Pay & Benefits
Salary range specific to this role: $207,000-$265,000 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, and qualifications. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
