Director AI & Automation

About the role

As a full-time Director of AI & Automation at SIXT, you will be responsible for owning and operating the deployment funnel for all AI & automation solutions. You will manage automation workflow development, data source connections, and ensure governance and data integrity. You will liaise with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to translate process documentation into technical solutions. You will maintain reusable data models, optimize query performance, and uphold data quality across automation workflows. Additionally, you will receive and apply AI-powered coding assistants and prompt engineering tools to accelerate development and streamline workflows.

Responsibilities

• Owning and operating the deployment funnel for all AI & automation solutions
• Managing automation workflow development, data source connections, and ensuring governance and data integrity
• Liaising with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to translate process documentation into technical solutions
• Maintaining reusable data models, optimizing query performance, and upholding data quality across automation workflows
• Receiving and applying AI-powered coding assistants and prompt engineering tools to accelerate development and streamline workflows
• Assisting with deep-dive analyses, impact assessments, and documentation for automation solutions and business outcomes

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional work experience, including hands-on experience with data and automation, and demonstrated progression
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Engineering, Business, or a related field, and authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Advanced SQL skills, experience with AI-powered development tools (Cursor, Claude Code), enterprise automation platforms, APIs, and data pipelines
• Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Systems-oriented, automation-minded, and able to manage priorities with a self-directed approach
• Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier), Python or R, prompt engineering, data governance, and cloud data platforms (preferred)
