About The Opportunity
You will be a critical business partner to various VPs across the organization, providing insightful financial guidance and strategic support. These roles are essential in building a strong control environment and ensuring our accounting processes are scalable, efficient, and ready for the rigors of a public company.
Impact You'll Make
- Technical Accounting & ASC 606: Lead accounting for complex revenue streams and related costs. Document accounting policies for new product launches and opine on contract negotiations.
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Drive the close process for business units, overseeing accruals and reviewing complex reconciliations for high-volume transaction data.
- People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale a team of professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Process & Controls: Strengthen SOX-compliant internal controls and partner with Engineering to raise accounting requirements for new products.
- Partnership: Partner with Product teams, FP&A and Business teams to understand results and be part of proactive discussions around new initiatives, providing accounting’s requirements
- B2B & Institutional (Campus & Corporate): Focus: Contract Management, B2B Accounts, & Managed Services. Institutional Revenue (Campus): Manage complex accounting for University partnerships, including meal-plan integrations and royalty structures.
- Corporate Accounts & Credit: Oversee Credit & Collections for B2B clients, managing credit limits and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
- Contract Review: Partner with Legal/Sales during the RFP process to ensure contract terms are "accountable."
- Hardware & Inventory: Account for physical assets (kiosks, lockers, tablets) including procurement, deployment, and impairment.
- SaaS & Licensing: Manage accounting for technology stack licensing fees charged to institutional partners.
What You Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and a CPA are required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in leadership.
- Deep understanding of ASC 606, SOX, and enterprise ERPs (e.g., NetSuite).
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and experience with control frameworks (e.g., SOX).
- Experience at a public company or a company that has recently undergone an IPO is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A strong, collaborative spirit, a passion for leveraging technology, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get into the details to solve problems.
Pay
New York / New Jersey Base Salary: $210,000 - $220,500. Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
