Director, 360 theatre leo&hyde
About the role
leo&hyde are a Manchester-based musical theatre company. We're a small and friendly team, who get excitable about new music, theatre and technology. We're looking for a Director with experience in working with VR in theatre, specifically someone who has made a piece of work using a 360 camera (and ideally, has access to one - though this is not essential).
About the project
Our new musical 'Pop Art' follows Mona Lisa as she hops from frame to frame on a journey through the history of art. Along the way she meets famous (and not-so-famous) faces from art history: Da Vinci and Michelangelo to Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol, with some lesser known artists like Artemesia Gentileschi, Farrukh Beg and Mary Cassatt in between.
We're looking for a director with experience of VR theatre to help us film one song from the musical using a 360 camera, and for us to begin exploring the possibilities of 360 camera in storytelling, as part of our journey exploring ways in which we can feature VR within a musical. We hope it can lead to future work in this area in the future too.
