Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities with precision and accuracy.
- Perform drill set-up and ensure proper operation of directional bore/drill equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during drilling operations.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate drilling locations and effective installation.
- Follow project specifications and work diligently to avoid obstructions and damage to existing underground infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of drilling equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed on-site to maintain a safe working environment.
- Absorb and communicate effectively with the team.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in directional drilling.
- Proven experience as a Directional Drill Operator/Locator or similar role, with a solid understanding of directional drilling techniques and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to perform work in various conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and maps.
- Familiarity with maintaining and operating directional drilling equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to directional drilling.
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license is required.
- OSHA 10 certification and Operator Qualifications (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
