Directional Drill Operator
What You Will Do
- Operates horizontal directional drilling equipment in accordance with blueprints and designated plans
- Installs 500 – 1,000 feet of conduit in a typical workday
- Maintains equipment per manufacturer's specifications and safety guidelines
- Assists in potholing, remediation, setting hand holes and pulling fiber
- Keeps good records, as built drawings and completes daily site inspections
What You Will Need
- Knowledge of utility depths and placements; general knowledge of construction practices
- Able to read blueprints/underground utility plans/redlines and interpret work assignments
- Adheres to directional drilling best practices
- Knowledge of job site safety practices
- Able to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels and confined spaces and in work settings with moderate to loud noise levels
- Able to move in different positions – crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted
- Willing to work overtime when required
- Willing to travel and to work in all-weather conditions
- Self-motivated and able to work well in groups
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years working with Vermeer or Ditch Witch DDD, or equivalent required
- 2 years working in the telecommunications industry
- Must have a CDL
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Osha10 safety card certification is required (applicant must complete on-line course within 5 days of hiring)
Pay
This pay range for this position is 35-45 Hr., pay is based on experience and location.
