Responsibilities

• Assist Drill Operator in locating drill head and drilling in accordance with blueprints.
• Verify locate marks and confirm location of existing facilities.
• Maintain equipment per manufacturer’s specifications and safety guidelines.
• Assist with clean-up and other duties as assigned.
• Keep accurate logs and consistent reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (industry training and certifications provided if not already secured).
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL is a plus (must obtain CDL Permit within 30 days of start date and CDL within 6 months).
• Prior experience with Subsite or DCI locating equipment required.
• Prior experience in underground fiber and coax construction a plus.
• Prior experience in standard and high-risk areas preferred.
• Capacity to read and understand blueprints; knowledge of utility depths and placements; general knowledge of construction practices.
• Willing to work overtime, travel, and in all-weather conditions.
• Self-motivated and able to work well in groups.

Physical Requirements

• Able to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels, and confined spaces.
• Able to work in settings with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Able to move in different positions—crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending—and lift 75 lbs. unassisted.
