Direct Support Professional Substitute

About the role

Direct Support Professional staff function as members of teams that are responsible for the direct care and instruction of individuals living in community residential homes in accordance with state, federal and Agency guidelines. Direct Support Professional staff will contribute to the creation of a safe, healthy emotional and physical environment for individuals.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation of a safe, healthy emotional and physical environment for individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information.
• Support individuals in their daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and other tasks as assigned.
• Assist with communication between clients and external service providers such as healthcare professionals and family members.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and Agency guidelines.

Requirements

• Candidates must be 18 years of age.
• Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Candidates must have a current valid driver's license.
• Candidates must be willing to undergo background checks, in accordance with local laws/regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation.
• No experience necessary; training provided to interested and eligible candidates.

• Good communication skills.

Benefits

• Potential to earn up to $2700 in the first 2 years of employment as a sign-on bonus.
