Direct Support Professional - Residential Group Home - Weekends Second Shift

About the role

Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services. BARC is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
• Transport individuals to and from programs and activities.
• Administer medications and treatments meeting all guidelines and accurate documentation.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
• Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least age 18.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Physical Efforts

• May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
• Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.

Schedule

Saturday & Sunday 2:30pm - 10:30pm - 16 hours
